What is ABA therapy?

ABA Therapy

ABA Therapy

ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) therapy is a scientifically-based and evidence-informed therapy for children with autism. It identifies any skill your child struggles with and teaches it to them step by step.

ABA therapy is NOT about forcing your child with autism to “act normal”.
It is YES about adapting supports, communication, and environments to meet their individual needs.

testimonial quote with child

…he has the most awesome and funnest personality!

Almost 6 years ago, our son had zero language or alternative communication skills, couldn’t play functionally with even the most basic baby toy, was nowhere near toilet trained, and didn’t even respond to his name. We wondered if his brain was developing at all. After intensive ABA therapy, he has developed incredible receptive language skills and effectively communicates wants and needs. He is a fully trained, friendly, and social little guy with the greatest personality!

Experience that Guides our Care

Adept ABA is built on decades of experience

Hi, I’m Rochel, the Clinical Director at Adept ABA. I bring over 16 years of experience working with children and families and hold a Master’s degree in Education. I am a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and a Certified Ohio Behavior Analyst (COBA). At Adept ABA, we utilize Project ImPACT, an evidence-based program that helps children communicate more effectively, manage challenging moments, and acquire everyday skills.

With nearly two decades of experience, I have witnessed some truly remarkable breakthroughs. These results were achieved by acquiring skills through hands-on work with children and implementing research-based ABA procedures with compassion and care for each child.

We play with kinetic sand. We dance. We celebrate the small wins because kids learn best when they have fun.

testimonial quote with child

…her language blossomed, and she learned to follow classroom rules

When my daughter began ABA, she had no eye contact and did not even respond to her name. She couldn’t communicate what she wanted. We often felt very overwhelmed when she was frustrated because we didn’t know what she wanted or how to help. She would play by herself. After a year of ABA, she learned to communicate and was integrated into a mainstream preschool, with full ABA support. During that year, she blossomed. She learned to follow classroom rules and began playing with friends. We are truly thankful for all the skills she learned!

Dreams can come true

Reaching for the stars is what we do

Ever catch yourself wishing, “I just want my child to BE”

To be themselves.
To be able to attend school.
To be able to go on outings.
To be loved for who they are.
To be able to communicate.
To be able to engage with others.
To be toilet-trained.
To be able to feel calm in unfamiliar surroundings.
To be able to express their feelings.
To be able to manage their frustrations.
To be able to feel included.
To be able to self-advocate.
TO BE HAPPY.

testimonial quote with child

Today, my son is in college, halfway around the world, independent, thriving

When our BCBA, Rochel, first began working with my son, he was violent, aggressive, and, at times, downright dangerous. His behaviors were so severe that his teacher had developed a plan for evacuating the entire classroom if needed. Rochel worked with him to gain the skills he desperately needed and the tools that allowed him to connect with the world around him. Today, my son is in college, halfway around the world, independent, thriving, and building a life that once felt impossible. Every milestone he reaches is a direct result of the foundation ABA taught him.
